As a species, we humans are pretty good at learning. Because we don't just learn from our own experiences, but also from the experiences of others.
For example, did you know that human technology takes regular inspiration from the characteristics of insects, plants and animals? Now you do! When we try to copy the biology of other creatures, it's called biomimetrics, or biomimicry.

After two weeks of intense fieldwork it is finally departure day, and my last blog post. I am absolutely exhausted, but I am so happy to have had the opportunity to come to the Yukon and complete all of the tasks that were set before me. Today was our last day setting up weather monitoring sights in Atlin. We traveled by float plane to several fish camps in the Atlin area in order to get a better picture of the regional weather patterns. This was my first time in a float plane and, like the helicopter rides, it did not disappoint. Landing in the water is very smooth, and quite different than landing on land.

Today we arrived in Atlin, British Columbia, a small community with a population of approximately 450. We have been asked to come in and set up some weather monitoring stations in order to get an idea of the impact global climate change is having on the area.
